Meet Our President
Mike Alford is the President of North State Resurfacing, Co. He is passionate about his work and oversees all aspects of his business.
His primary role is to provide vision and leadership. However, Mike will perform any task necessary from estimating, bookkeeping, managing daily operations, or even working on the courts. He is committed to providing quality workmanship, superior materials, and the best customer service possible.
A native of Raleigh NC, Mike graduated in 1978 from Millbrook High School. While pursuing a career in Civil Engineering, he began working for a local tennis court contractor. He discovered rather quickly that he thoroughly enjoyed this line of work. The combination of being outdoors and seeing a project from beginning to completion was very rewarding. By 1989, plans were underway to branch out on his own and in 1990 Mike co-founded North State Resurfacing, Co. Mike has 45 years of experience and has the skills and knowledge to help you with any of your projects.
It’s truly rewarding to find a job that you actually enjoy! However, when Mike is not involved with his responsibilities at North State, he has plenty of other interests to occupy his time. He loves gardening and especially enjoys growing fresh vegetables. There’s nothing better than eating the first tomato sandwich of the season! Other hobbies include riding his bicycle on the Neuse River Trail, tinkering with his 1983 Mustang, and playing one of his many guitars including his grandfather’s 1927 Martin. Mike also enjoys traveling and feels fortunate to live in an area where you can reach the mountains or the beach in just a few hours.
Meet Our Vice President & Estimator
Drew Alford is the Vice President and Estimator at North State Resurfacing, Co. He grew up in the business, working alongside his father from a young age. By the time he was five, he was already helping patch tennis courts. He kept at it every summer through middle and high school.
After attending college, Drew spent his 20s working in a variety of jobs, including embroidery, landscaping, and warehouse operations. That time gave him real-world experience and a broader perspective. Eventually, he returned to the family business with a stronger appreciation for the work and the people it serves.
Since then, he has taken on nearly every role. He’s worked as a foreman in the field and managed full court rebuilds. Today, Drew leads the company’s estimating and project development. He combines field knowledge with strong planning to help clients budget accurately and stay on track.
He believes in doing things right the first time. He focuses on setting crews up for success and keeping communication clear from start to finish.
Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, riding ATVs, getting outdoors, and listening to audiobooks. His experience, honesty, and steady leadership help keep North State Resurfacing moving forward, one court at a time.
Meet Our Specialty Court Estimator
Based in Spring Hope, North Carolina, Andrew Wells serves as an estimator for North State Resurfacing, a company specializing in preparing and painting asphalt and concrete surfaces for athletic use. With approximately eight years of hands-on experience working directly on courts, Andrew stepped away to explore other trades—including high voltage testing and locksmith work—before ultimately returning home to North State Resurfacing.
Now in an estimating role, he continues to contribute in the field whenever possible, offering an extra set of hands and sharing his knowledge to support the crews. His well-rounded experience and problem-solving mindset make him a valuable part of delivering high-quality, regulation-ready sports surfaces across the region.
Andrew is a proud husband and father with one child and another on the way later this year. In his free time, he enjoys being with family and friends and has a passion for tinkering with mechanical and technical projects. He’s naturally curious about how things work and constantly looks for ways to improve or optimize them.
Meet Our Office Administrator
Jessica Jasinski is the Office Administrator at North State Resurfacing, Co. A North Carolina native, she brings over 10 years of experience from the warehouse and manufacturing world.
Before joining our team, she worked in roles ranging from assembly line production to quality control, inventory management, and shipping and receiving. That experience built her strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
At North State, Jessica handles office duties, tracks inventory, manages incoming and outgoing shipments, and coordinates travel logistics. She also supports the team with daily operations and is often the first voice you hear when calling the office. She’s reliable, focused, and always ready to help.
Outside of work, she enjoys going to the beach, walking in nature, watching movies, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Ski, along with her family and friends.
